I recently decided to strictly use my professional audio equipment when recording my DimeCasts instead of the cheap LogicTech headset set that I have.
I currently run a GrooveTube GT55 Condenser microphone. However to run this I need a preamp. I have a MAudio Mobile-Pre and in order for this thing to work you have to install the drivers (of course).
I currently run 32 bit Windows 7 and the current driver (the 32 bit Vista driver) _does_not_work_. Here’s what I had to do to get it to work.
The Fix
Right click on the MSI and go to the properties and then to the Compatibility tab. Select “Run this program in compatibility mode for: “ and select the “Windows Vista” option. Click Ok and then install. (Screen shot of the properties window below).
That should get you going. Once I did that my mobile-pre installed perfectly and I was off to recording.

Mobile Pre not working in windows 7 – I am leaving a reply here for Googlers with the same problem I had. The Mobile-pre had problems with latency and some issue with the sample rate which made everything change pitch if I recorded more than one track. Strange. Many instructions told me to install the old Windows XP/Vista drivers. I did this to no avail. Then I went to the sound control panel and went to properties for the Mobile Pre. I set the sample rate to 44100 (CD Quality) and unchecked the two boxes below regarding “Exclusive control” I don’t know why this worked but recording was fine after that.

What version of the drivers were you using when you succeeded? Were you using the version ending with 5128? I tried going all the way back to version ending in 3516 and it blue-screened my Win7 32-bit machine. (It recovered after it rebooted.) In all cases, I am getting connectivity and functionality but the sound is extremely garbled and distorted.
